Training begins with working with clients to understand the training needs and analyzing the ability, prior knowledge, and learning requirements of potential trainees, and then moves on to the development of objectives and training sets that reflect those capabilities and requirements and meet those needs. These training sets range from task-based tutorials to in-depth curriculum development, and can include classroom training, workbooks, CD-ROMs and online delivery, each of which can be in the form of either instructor-led or self-paced instruction.

 Examples of training, distance learning and instructional design successes include:

  • Training users at a company’s multiple U.S. sites in the use of new quality control software

  • Handling software installation, configuration and training, data conversion, print sharing and PC/LAN troubleshooting for a New York State agency.

  • Preparation of training materials and training the trainers for a company’s multiple hospital sites that provide care for chronic wounds

  • Providing a national retailer of office supplies with instructional design, writing and training for customized software applications, including sales training, manufacturing and financial/accounting modules

  • Development of instructional design and content for a state medical society's online training

  • Developing the curriculum, designing and writing training materials and delivering statewide training for a conversion of a supplemental nutrition program from paper based to electronic delivery

  • Developing and delivering competency-based training in the use of a new imaged-based document handling and storage system to 4,000 part-time staff during the required 30 day training period
