Internet Solutions

Challenge at GE Plastics

  • Massive volume of paper documents contain critical information and cannot be accessed by askEdison, GE's new natural language query search engine

Our response:

  • Scanned thousands of pages of paper documents for conversion to HTML for web access

  • Edited and formatted content, cross-referenced documents and identified commonly used industry keywords within them to provide document indexes

Results:

  • Valuable information is now usable by the Ask Edison site, giving customers flexible access to previously unavailable research and decision-making capabilities

  • The information is also widely available to a myriad of search windows and sites within GE’s extensive web environment, adding even greater value to their existing documents

Custom Solutions

  • This worldwide professional society needed a cost-effective way to distribute 9,000 pages of technical documents and professional papers for their annual conference

Our Response:

  • Created fully indexed, linked PDF documents

  • Managed the production of CD-ROMs containing the final published documents

Results:

  • A comprehensive document with fully-indexed table of contents and links in a CD-ROM format that can be duplicated (published) and shipped very inexpensively compared to hardcopy book publication and distribution
